This course summary highlights the English Literature and Politics programs. In English Literature, students will examine diverse aspects of English-language literature, leveraging the university's expertise in areas such as American, Irish, and postcolonial studies, critical theory, creative writing, and the intersections between literature and other arts, media, and sciences. Access to the university's prestigious Hunterian collection and Library Special Collections—strengthened by holdings in the 18th and 19th centuries, travel, illuminated manuscripts, and notable single-author works—will enrich the experience.In Politics, the program focuses on the distribution of power and influence in society and its effects on decision-making within and across nations. Students will engage with a variety of topics, including international relations, political theory, and British politics, while having opportunities to participate in the expanding study abroad initiatives.
