Psychosocial and Psychoanalytic Studies, BA (Hons), with study abroad

This course explores fundamental questions about human identity, such as how we become who we are, the interplay between emotion and reason, and the meaning behind seemingly irrational behaviors. Psychoanalysis, an interdisciplinary field with over a century of theory and clinical practice, examines the mind, emotions, social dynamics, motivation, and mental health. It emphasizes delving beneath surface actions to understand underlying psychological factors that shape emotions, behaviors, and relationships.In this program, students learn psychodynamic concepts and apply them to individuals, relationships, and organizations, drawing on the foundational works of Freud, Jung, and Lacan. Key topics include psychoanalytic and psychosocial approaches, child and adult development, trauma recovery, and analyses of film, literature, and television.
