About the course

This course equips you to leverage language skills for effective communication among people, organisations, and countries. You'll engage with contemporary materials, advanced technology, and experts in language, translation, and intercultural communication. Study French, Japanese, or Spanish to degree level, developing advanced proficiency while exploring modules on language, culture, translation, and intercultural skills. You can also add languages like Arabic, BSL, Chinese, or German, subject to availability. Access our language lab for cutting-edge translation tools and participate in events such as Love Languages Day, Japanese cultural activities, and LCS Ciné Club.In your third year, immerse yourself in a country where your chosen language is spoken, through university study (all languages) or teaching/work placements (French and Spanish only), with partnerships in France, Spain, Japan, Canada, and Latin America. Graduates pursue diverse careers in teaching, language services, media, business, and marketing. Note: Course details may change; confirm on www.uea.ac.uk.
