Mechanical Engineering, BEng (Hons), with study abroad

This four-year mechanical engineering course at UEA focuses on fostering curiosity and problem-solving skills for designing and manufacturing items with moving parts, such as household appliances and renewable energy systems. In the first year, students undertake an integrated programme to build essential knowledge, skills, and industry connections. From the second year, specialisation in mechanical engineering covers topics like solid and fluid mechanics, control systems, thermodynamics, design, and manufacturing. The third year includes studying abroad at partner universities to enhance independence and flexibility, culminating in a final-year individual project proposed by the student.UEA provides access to state-of-the-art facilities in Productivity East, including CAD stations, 3D printers, subtractive manufacturing tools, and collaborative robots. Students can showcase their abilities through events like the annual Select Partnership Scheme, preparing them for rewarding careers in engineering or further studies.
