About the course

English Literature and Drama explore how characters, stories, and expressions enable self-reflection and the creation of new worlds, drawing on language, imagery, and imagination to illuminate history and personal potential. This degree, offered in two outstanding departments, immerses students in writing, criticism, and performance across prose, poetry, and drama, while engaging with literature from ancient epics to modern works and global theatre practices on page, stage, and screen.Students gain hands-on experience in a professional Drama Studio and through the acclaimed Minotaur Theatre Company, alongside access to Norwich's vibrant arts scene, including key venues like Norwich Theatre and the National Centre for Writing. The program develops skills as an engaged reader, thinker, writer, and creator, preparing graduates for careers in theatre, film, writing, criticism, and beyond. This version includes a third-year opportunity to study at partner institutions worldwide. Course details may change; verify on www.uea.ac.uk.
