About the course

For those passionate about supporting others, the BSc (Hons) Nursing (Children’s) degree offers a pathway to a fulfilling career focused on delivering compassionate care. Aligned with Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) standards, the programme includes 50% practice learning—requiring at least 2300 hours of placements for hands-on experience in 24-hour care settings. Supported by Practice Assessors and Supervisors, students integrate theory with practice through diverse experiences. The curriculum prepares graduates through lectures, tutorials, workshops, and advanced facilities like simulated NHS wards, fostering in-depth knowledge and compassionate professionalism across nursing fields. Upon completion, students are eligible for NMC registration as Children’s nurses, with strong employability in hospitals, community teams, care homes, and international roles.
