Theatre and Performance Studies, BA (Hons)

The Theatre and Performance Studies course enhances your understanding and practical abilities through critical and historical frameworks, complemented by workshops, performance opportunities, and production tasks.You will engage with professional theatre practitioners and the museum-accredited Theatre Collection to broaden your critical and practical skills while exploring diverse career paths. In the first year, students learn to analyse performances and develop skills in staging plays, workshops, and theatre production. Subsequent years offer options to deepen expertise in analytical, critical, practical, and historical areas based on personal interests. The programme concludes with an independent project, such as a group or individual performance, dissertation, or industrial placement, with partnerships including Bristol Old Vic and opportunities for overseas experiences.
