Our BA Music degree is a prestigious and well-established programme. Graduates pursue careers in the music industry, broader creative sectors, and diverse fields such as law, finance, civil service, non-governmental organisations, education, and health professions—including music therapy—or opt for postgraduate studies.The programme features a wide array of units in musicology, composition, and performance across various styles and genres, enhanced by weekly concerts, masterclasses, workshops, and engagement with Bristol's vibrant music scene. Our department boasts international academic excellence and a welcoming environment, with staff actively involved in ensembles and student performances. Instruction is provided by renowned musicologists, composers, and professional tutors, delivered through research-led methods in the historic Victoria Rooms, which include a 530-seat auditorium, recital room, studios, and practice facilities. Organ and choral scholarships are also available through local churches and Bristol Cathedral.
