About the course

Our comprehensive three-year BA in Liberal Arts provides a rigorous exploration of the arts and humanities, while developing essential skills in analysis and communication for use throughout your studies and career. The program blends in-depth study of a chosen discipline (your pathway) with broader engagement across the Faculty of Arts, fostering innovative thinking and a wide range of abilities. In the first two years, you will allocate at least a quarter of your studies to your pathway, alongside core units on foundational interdisciplinary topics such as writing, historical dynamics, nature, and beauty, plus language studies, data visualization, and optional units from various disciplines. In your final year, you will complete an interdisciplinary dissertation, advanced pathway and optional units, and a capstone course that emphasizes the professional value of your degree, promotes global citizenship, and offers opportunities for external collaborations. For the modern languages pathway, we recommend the four-year MLibArts with a year abroad to enhance language skills and cultural knowledge; the three-year option is available if studying abroad is not possible.
