Animal Science - Equine, BAgrSc (Hons)

The Animal Science – Equine program emphasizes the applied sciences underpinning animal and veterinary biosciences, with a focus on horses. It delivers essential scientific knowledge and transferable skills for leadership roles in the animal and equine industries.Students will explore the growth, development, function, behavior, and welfare of farm animals; the Irish equine industry's global context and entrepreneurial opportunities; equine health, reproduction, genetics, breeding, nutrition, and exercise physiology; as well as research advances in equine genetics and reproduction. Notably, Ireland produces more thoroughbred foals than any other EU state, ranking third worldwide and branded as The Land of the Horse.
