About the course

This course enables FdSc Veterinary Nursing graduates and experienced veterinary nurses to advance their qualifications to honours degree level. Participants will explore critical thinking and reflection on prior knowledge and experience, alongside the impacts of global diseases on animal health and welfare, rehabilitation strategies, and anaesthetic techniques.Building on skills from an FdSc Veterinary Nursing programme, this top-up degree deepens expertise in first- and second-opinion practices, heightens awareness of global veterinary medicine issues, and emphasises evidence-based evaluation. Students gain advanced knowledge in analysing animal diseases in the UK and abroad, critical care and rehabilitation in second-opinion settings, and evaluating medical and surgical case management. It also equips learners with skills for a clinical coach role.
