Natural Sciences, MSci (Hons), with industry placement

This accredited Natural Sciences MSci (Hons) course provides flexibility to study a range of physical sciences, including chemistry, bioscience, mathematics, geography, physics, and materials, building on the university's strong reputation in these fields. It offers a broad-based degree with interdisciplinary pathways, allowing increasing specialisation over the years. Taught by internationally renowned experts, the program develops essential skills for cross-disciplinary work, communication, and independent research, including laboratory projects. Accredited by the Society for Natural Sciences, it emphasises real-world applications and includes options for a placement year to gain practical experience.The MSci differs from the BSc by providing advanced training and a major research project, preparing graduates for research careers or PhD studies, while the BSc focuses on general employment in scientific sectors. Modules cover various physical sciences, assessed through a mix of coursework (such as essays, projects, and presentations) and examinations, tailored to the subject material.
