About the course

Are you seeking a rewarding and challenging career in civil engineering? This field involves designing, constructing, and maintaining aspects of the natural and built environment, addressing problems facing communities today and in the future. At Brunel, our programme nurtures your creative development and equips you with skills for effective learning and multidisciplinary team collaboration. From the first week, you'll engage in interdisciplinary studies: Year 1 covers general engineering with peers from other disciplines, Year 2 builds core knowledge in areas like materials science, structural analysis, hydraulics, and surveying. In Year 3, select from pathways such as Environmental Engineering, Flood and Coastal Engineering, or core civil engineering, with Year 4 offering advanced studies in your chosen area. An optional placement year between Years 2 and 3 provides practical experience, enhancing job prospects. Typical modules include Soil Mechanics and Water Infrastructure Engineering. Please note, this course does not award Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
