Civil engineering offers a rewarding and challenging career, involving the design, construction, and maintenance of the natural and built environment to address current and future community issues. Whether you're drawn by longstanding interest or recent exposure, Brunel's program fosters creativity, develops effective learning skills, and equips you for multidisciplinary teams. From the outset, it immerses you in interdisciplinary studies, with Year 1 shared across engineering disciplines.In Year 2, you'll build core knowledge in subjects like materials science, structural analysis, hydraulics, and surveying. Year 3 offers options to specialize in Environmental Engineering, Flood and Coastal Engineering, or core Civil Engineering, while Year 4 provides advanced studies in your chosen pathway. An optional placement between Years 2 and 3 enhances practical experience and job prospects. Typical modules include Soil Mechanics and Water Infrastructure Engineering. This course does not award Qualified Teacher Status.
