The multidisciplinary BSc (Hons) in Computing and Information Technology provides essential technical and managerial skills for a successful IT career. Students will utilise industry-standard equipment and labs, with opportunities for an optional placement year to apply academic knowledge. As an academy partnered with leaders like Microsoft, Cisco, and the Linux Professional Institute, the course offers access to additional certifications and a curriculum shaped by industry collaborators to ensure relevance and employability. Expert faculty, many with computing experience and ongoing research, support students in combining rigorous academics with practical experiences at the City Centre Campus. Here, dedicated facilities enable work on enterprise software, virtual environments, and real-time systems to address global challenges in digital infrastructure.An optional professional placement year allows students to spend a full year with an employer after their second year, gaining career insights and potentially securing future roles. Supported by the university's extensive employer network and careers teams, students must secure a suitable placement and can transfer to the placement version of the course. Note that fees equivalent to 20% of the full-time rate apply during this year.
