About the course

The Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art, offered by the Department of Art in the College of Arts and Sciences, requires formal admission after completing 12 credit hours of studio courses with grades of C or better and departmental approval. Students must earn 120 credit hours with a minimum 2.00 GPA, fulfill college writing and university mathematics requirements, and complete general education by taking 10 courses—two from each of five foundational areas, including at least one lab science course in the Natural and Mathematical Sciences.Major requirements total 54-55 credit hours with grades of C or better, focusing on specializations such as Drawing, Painting, Printmaking, Sculpture, Installation, or Multimedia. Core courses include art history and studio classes like ARTH-105, ARTS-205, and ARTS-400. For Multimedia, additional courses in audio technology, digital imaging, and related electives are required.
