About the course

This program is designed for qualified graduates aspiring to enter the podiatry profession. Podiatrists specialize in diagnosing and treating conditions of the lower limbs, particularly the foot and ankle. As independent practitioners, they are authorized to perform minor foot surgeries under local anesthesia, refer patients for appropriate diagnostic tests, and, if endorsed by the Podiatry Board of Australia for scheduled medicines, administer and prescribe medications essential for podiatric care.Successful candidates in the Direct Pathways for the Doctor of Podiatric Medicine receive a conditional offer for the doctoral program. They can proceed upon completing an undergraduate degree at UWA and attaining the required grades.
