Dentistry as a career requires a high degree of dedication and excellent manual dexterity skills. The Doctor of Dental Medicine is a four-year full-time professional degree program. Studies cover fundamental biomedical and dental sciences, together with clinical practice modules including patient care, preventative and conservative dentistry, restorative dentistry, and child and adolescent dental health. You will actively engage in a research project in the third year, while the final year is occupied by independent but supervised practice which takes place within and outside the UWA Dental School, with compulsory rural and metropolitan clinical placements.Successful applicants to the Direct Pathways for dental medicine will receive a conditional place in the DMD, and can progress to the DMD program upon successful completion of an undergraduate degree at UWA and achieving pre-requisite grade.
