Dentistry demands exceptional dedication and superior manual dexterity. The Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) is a four-year, full-time professional degree program that includes foundational biomedical and dental sciences, as well as clinical modules in patient care, preventive and conservative dentistry, restorative dentistry, and child and adolescent dental health. In the third year, students undertake a research project, while the fourth year focuses on supervised independent practice, with required rural and metropolitan clinical placements.Successful applicants to the Direct Pathways for Dental Medicine receive a conditional offer for the DMD program. They can progress to the DMD upon completing an undergraduate degree at UWA and achieving the necessary grade requirements.
