Radiotherapy and Oncology, BSc (Hons)

The BSc (Hons) Radiotherapy and Oncology programme is accredited by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), enabling graduates to register with them. It emphasises practical training through evidence-based learning, simulations, and advanced equipment like the Virtual Linear Accelerator (VERT) and Eclipse radiotherapy planning system to enhance skills and knowledge.Approximately half the course involves placements in diverse NHS radiotherapy departments, where students interact with patients, radiographers, and other healthcare professionals both in clinical settings and online. Supported by integrated work-based training, specialised facilities, and experienced staff, students at UWE Bristol achieve high results, with many earning first-class honours and awards such as Student Radiographer of the Year from the Society and College of Radiographers. Graduates enjoy strong demand for therapeutic radiographers in the UK, with opportunities in NHS, private departments, and oncology centres.
