Expand your knowledge of some of the planet's most dominant life forms and develop laboratory skills in purpose-built microbiology facilities. Our academics have particular strengths in virology and bacteriology, and we have strong links with industry.Learn about the fundamental properties, genetics and physiology of diverse microbes, their impact on our health, food and environment and how this knowledge can be used to tackle global crises, including pandemics, climate change and pollution.Many of our graduates have careers in microbiology research or industry.
