Our BEng Biomedical Engineering programme offers students the opportunity to learn from expert academics, build transferable skills, and gain expertise in diagnosing, preventing, and treating diseases in this dynamic field. Through hands-on lab sessions, participants will develop practical abilities in techniques such as immuno-fluorescent labelling, microscopy, DNA and protein analysis, EEG recordings, cell culture, aseptic methods, and analytical approaches. According to the 2023 National Student Survey, 93% of students in the Department rated teaching staff as good or very good at explaining concepts. At the University of Reading, we lead in world-renowned research in neural engineering, rehabilitation, and medical technology, allowing students to engage in original research during their final-year project.
