Cognitive neuroscience examines how the brain supports thoughts, feelings, and actions. This course features core psychology modules alongside practicals in cognitive neuroscience, developing skills in brain imaging, behavioural measurement, and physiological psychology. In years one and three, optional modules allow exploration of diverse psychology areas, such as Neuropsychology and Applied Neuroimaging, which addresses brain damage effects on language, memory, and motor control.In the final year, students undertake an independent research project on topics ranging from behavioural to social psychology, including past examples like anxiety and mental health, neurodiversity, spatial cognition, and brain imaging. An optional computer science pathway enhances interdisciplinary skills in human-computer interaction and programming, leading to a specialized BSc Psychology and Cognitive Neuroscience with a Year in Computer Science.
