About the course

Digital Electronic SystemsStudents who elect the Digital Electronic Systems concentration are frequently interested either in both physics and engineering, or physics but with emphasis on applications. The Digital Electronic Systems concentration allows the student to take many of the courses required for the Computer Engineering and the Computer Science degrees, but also to take additional advanced physics courses.  Advanced physics training improves the students’ understanding of the fundamentals underlying engineering practice and develops problem-solving skills.  Our majors have access to undergraduate research opportunities either in physics or in engineering and take senior design courses in both physics and Computer Engineering giving them real-world project experience.
