Speech and language therapy offers essential support and treatment for individuals with communication difficulties. As a qualified speech and language therapist (SLT), you will assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, communication disorders, and eating/drinking difficulties across the lifespan, collaborating with paediatric and adult clients, families, carers, professionals, and support workers in diverse settings. The course explores psychology, linguistics, phonetics, anatomy, physiology, practice frameworks, and clients' biopsychosocial and cultural needs, preparing you for Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registration and Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT) membership as a newly qualified practitioner.Students starting from September 2020 receive guaranteed, non-repayable annual support of at least £5,000 (see: https://www.nhsbsa.nhs.uk/nhs-learning-support-fund-lsf).
