Geography with Global Development, BA (Hons)

Our innovative BA in Geography and Global Development at UEA explores the roots of societal inequalities, including colonialism, globalisation, urbanisation, and industrialisation, through an interdisciplinary lens focused on human and social geography. You will examine critical issues such as poverty, inequality, race, health, migration, and environmental challenges, emphasising the interplay between people, place, and social justice. Core modules provide practical training in Geographical Information Systems (GIS), qualitative and quantitative methods, and fieldwork, with opportunities for local trips, UK residential courses, and international placements, including an optional 8-10 week work experience with development organisations.In addition to this geographical emphasis, the programme offers a broad foundation in development studies, drawing from anthropology, economics, environmental sciences, media, and politics.
