Engineering Mathematics, BEng (Hons)

The first two years of this course establish a strong foundation in mathematical analysis, computing, and general engineering, with an emphasis on mathematical and data modelling. Students will develop practical problem-solving skills, teamwork experience, and an introduction to professional practices, which serve as the basis for advanced studies.In the final year, a wide array of specialist options across engineering, mathematics, data science, and intelligent systems allows students to pursue their interests, guided by leading researchers. The curriculum focuses on real-world problem-solving in diverse areas, including robotics, social media, medicine, and environmental modelling. Options include group modelling projects with industry collaborators or individual research initiatives, both of which refine modelling skills and prepare graduates for their careers. The course is accredited by the Institute of Mathematics and its Applications and the Institution of Engineering and Technology, affirming the quality of the qualification.
