Electrical and electronic engineering is a broad discipline that leverages cutting-edge technology to tackle key modern challenges, with increasing demand for skilled graduates in sectors like consumer electronics, renewable energy, transportation, medical engineering, and communications.The first two years build a solid foundation in mathematics, computing, analogue and digital electronics, communications, electromagnetics, electronic systems, and control. In years three and four, students engage with units shaped by the latest advancements and research-driven teaching, including a group design project in year three and an individual research project in year four. The initial two years align with the BEng programme, allowing transfers based on performance. Strong industry partnerships ensure excellent career opportunities, with graduates joining firms such as Intel, BBC, and Siemens. While recent updates to the programme necessitate formal reaccreditation from the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) after the first cohort graduates, the department maintains a proven record of accreditation success.
