About the course

In the first year, students explore a wide array of biology subjects focused on human health and disease, building a solid foundation in areas such as biochemistry, cell and cancer biology, genetics, immunology, microbiology, neuroscience, pharmacology, physiology, and virology. Key units may include Normal and Tumour Cells, Pharmacology 1A, Biochemistry: Cellular Composition, Medical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases, and Fundamentals of Body Function.In the second year, you will delve into molecular genetics and various biomedical sciences units, enabling you to follow emerging interests while gaining transferable and employability skills. Emphasis is placed on practical training through eBiolabs resources for laboratory sessions, alongside developing research skills for a third-year project. In the final year, students select from units aligned with research strengths and complete a related project.
