Physics, MPhys (Hons), with study abroad

Physics explores the fundamental processes of the universe and underpins other natural sciences. This degree programme encompasses all aspects of physics, from basic principles to the latest frontiers of knowledge, with early years providing a broad foundation in physics and mathematics.In Year 4, students can undertake an innovative research project at an overseas partner institution. Returning to Edinburgh for the final year, specialisation is available in various fields based on personal interests, experiences abroad, and career aspirations. Expertise is offered in areas such as particle physics, nuclear physics, condensed matter, fluids, optics, cosmology, and astronomy.
