Infectious diseases pose a significant challenge to societies in both developed and developing regions. Our infectious diseases programme examines the microorganisms responsible for illnesses in humans and animals, as well as the host's response to infection. It integrates studies in bacteriology, virology, immunology, and molecular biology.Through this programme, you will explore the interactions between microorganisms and hosts, infection processes, and the mechanisms by which microbes cause disease. This knowledge is applied to develop preventive and therapeutic strategies, including antibiotics, antiviral agents, and vaccines.
