Classics and Linguistics, MA (Hons)

In the MA in Classics and Linguistics, students integrate the study of ancient Greek language and literature with linguistics and linguistic theory, focusing on English. This provides access to foundational Western texts in their original language, including epics, tragedy, philosophy, and history, while allowing exploration of linguistic structures in both a dead and living language.The programme shares an initial structure with MA Classics and English Language but emphasizes linguistics from Year 2, with the final dissertation possible in either classics or linguistics.
