Molecular biology examines biological systems at the molecular level, integrating insights from various biological sciences. Since the discovery of DNA's structure and advancements in genome sequencing, it has enabled solutions to critical challenges in medicine, agriculture, and industry, such as understanding the molecular foundations of diseases like cancer, enhancing crop sustainability, and developing innovative enzymes for industrial applications. This programme teaches how genetic and molecular methods have elucidated fundamental biological and cellular processes, while introducing key techniques in molecular cloning and genetic manipulation for organism studies and biotechnology.The Biological Sciences curriculum offers flexibility, encompassing the study of living organisms from environmental interactions to gene expression across 12 subject areas, including molecular biology. Students can initially explore multiple programmes before specialising, gaining skills in data analysis, programming, problem-solving, communication, and independent thinking to prepare for diverse scientific careers.
