This course offers a comprehensive 360-degree approach, allowing students to explore cinema from multiple angles, including stars, directors, historical origins, contemporary economics, socio-political contexts, aesthetic elements, screenplays, and global influences on production, reception, and form. Upon completion, students will confidently discuss and critique these concepts, developing skills essential for careers in communication, creative arts, and beyond.The program examines films and television from Hollywood, Europe, Bollywood, Asia, Latin America, and experimental forms, with a strong emphasis on diverse European cinema through collaboration with experts in the School of Modern Languages, Literatures and Cultures. Students gain a solid foundation in the history and theory of moving image media, including screenwriting opportunities, and work with world-leading experts and award-winning practitioners in a vibrant, creative environment.
