This course explores the nature of individuals and society, equipping you with critical thinking skills valued in fields such as business, health, media, education, social care, and management. The programme fosters debates on theoretical, practical, and ethical issues in psychology and sociology, offering a stimulating environment for those intrigued by human interactions and societal structures.At Queen Margaret University (QMU), we provide a student-focused, research-informed experience with smaller class sizes for personalised support. Our innovative curriculum integrates psychology and sociology through hybrid modules, drawing on current projects and collaborations. Modules span introductions to core concepts, debates in sociology, research skills, and advanced topics like social movements and identity, culminating in a dissertation. Assessment includes essays, presentations, reports, and examinations, with teaching delivered via lectures, seminars, and workshops.
