Students thrive at the University, gaining confidence through 1:1 vocal/instrumental tuition, band performances, and exposure to diverse visiting musicians. Supported by industry-standard facilities—including a 220-seater auditorium, sound-proofed rooms, and a recording studio—participants develop creativity and originality via real-world experiences and networks in Leeds' vibrant music scene. Collaboration with other creative disciplines further enhances networking and portfolio building.The program spans three years: Year one introduces fundamental concepts through practical music-making, ensemble workshops, and stage performances, alongside songwriting and entrepreneurship. Year two builds portfolios via briefs, exploring artist development, contracts, and historical contexts. Year three culminates in a specialized project, fostering analytical skills and professional identity for complex creative environments.
