Make a difference in the world of criminal justice.La Trobe’s Bachelor of Criminology combines a high-quality criminology education with a commitment to social justice and an emphasis on practical experience.In first year, you’ll learn about key issues in relation to crime, criminal justice and the connection between the criminal justice system, access to justice and human rights. You’ll also examine the sustainability of our criminal justice system in relation to social, economic and environmental factors.In second and third year, you’ll study policing, sentencing, corrections, forensics, victimisation, research and policy development, gaining a deeper understanding of the issues and practice of criminal justice. In third year, we provide opportunities for work placements across all sectors of the community, including the criminal justice system and community organisations.Our Bachelor of Criminology helps you understand the complex causes of crime and develop innovative responses to it.Reasons to study criminology at La Trobe:
