Our BEng (Hons) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering offers a comprehensive education, covering topics from low-current electronics to high-power systems across the first three years. In Year 4, students undertake an individual Honours project and select specialised courses such as Embedded Systems, Sustainable Energy, Communications, Image Processing, RF Communications, Analogue Electronics, and Microwave Techniques. In Year 1, core subjects include Circuit Theory, Digital Design, Mathematics, Computer Programming, and Electronic Design, with electives like Mechanics and Physics. Year 2 builds on these with further studies in Electronic and Digital Design, Embedded Programming, Mathematics, Signals, and Electromechanical Systems, supported by labs and projects. Year 3 focuses on design synthesis, featuring Energy Systems, Analogue Electronics, Electromagnetics, Physical Electronics, and Communications, alongside a major team project involving Digital and Software Design, Mechanics, and Management. Graduates are highly employable, securing roles at companies like Bosch, Rolls Royce, and Texas Instruments. The programme is accredited by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), fully meeting requirements for Incorporated Engineer registration and partially for Chartered Engineer.
