About the course

The Bachelor of Environmental Science equips students with practical skills, scientific rigor, and environmental management expertise to drive impactful careers in conservation, sustainability, and policy. Gain broad knowledge across social, physical, and biological perspectives. Year 1 focuses on core sciences; Year 2 covers environmental data analytics, GIS, management, and anthropology, plus major selection. Year 3 features a capstone with research, fieldwork, or industry placement for career readiness.Specialize in up to two majors: Ecology and Conservation (Gold Coast, Nathan), Environmental Chemistry (Gold Coast, Nathan), Soil and Water Science (Nathan), or Urban Environments (Gold Coast, Nathan)—double majors completable in three years. Eligible students may transfer to Honours post-Year 3 for an independent research project. Pairing a discipline-specific major with Environmental Management fosters versatile professional skills.
