The Bachelor of Science in Communication Disorders provides pre-professional training in speech-language pathology and audiology within a strong liberal arts framework. The program is designed to prepare students for graduate school in speech-language pathology, audiology, and speech and hearing science.The undergraduate program meets the core requirements for admission to graduate school. Courses fulfill certain academic and practicum requirements for clinical certification from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). Students may select additional courses leading to New York State certification as a Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities (TSSLD). However, student teaching is required for certification and is offered only at the graduate level.
