This course delves into the origins of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, highlighting how thinkers, artists, and activists have leveraged their religious traditions to confront historical and contemporary challenges. It encompasses the study of ethics and philosophy of religion, including philosophical interpretations of the incarnation, alongside an in-depth, critical examination of the Bible in its original languages (Hebrew and Greek) and its enduring influence in modern society.Additionally, students can explore modules on postcolonial and/or queer theologies, as well as spirituality, and investigate the interplay between religion and science, such as in climate change and space travel.
