Food & Beverage Manager
A Food and Beverage Manager’s main responsibility is to manage the operation of the food and beverage function in a restaurant or hospitality-centric establishment such as a hotel. The job primarily involves marketing food and beverage products to maximise sales as well as working with the Food and Beverage Director and chef de cuisine to develop new menus and cuisine concepts.
Food and beverage managers may also be put in charge of overseeing budgets, maintaining sales targets, and purchasing stock and developing quality control guidelines. Additionally, food and beverage managers will take on the responsibility of training and monitoring F&B staff to meet high standards of service and customer care.
The position of food and beverage manager requires familiarity with licensing laws, hygiene regulations and other legal formalities to assist staff with health and safety compliance.
Typically, a degree in hospitality management and some relevant experience is required for the position and you might want to consider this career if you love dealing with food and people and have a keen desire to advance in the hospitality industry.
