All students studying in the US are required to have an approved Health insurance that covers all basic healthcare needsand in-patient treatments such as surgeries. Health insurance is typically offered by universities as part of your offer, so it is most convenient to take up the health package offered. Alternatively you can also buy your own insurance from home, but you will have to ensure the the coverage is equivalent or more than that stipulated by the university and US authority.
