About the course

The BA in Creative Industries explores diverse sectors such as performing arts, music, film, festivals, and publishing, while equipping students to produce successful arts events and envision sustainable, inclusive futures for the cultural sector. Developed in partnership with Brighton Dome & Brighton Festival, the course integrates practical experience with critical analysis of key issues, including cultural funding, the climate crisis, and the role of AI in production. Students will gain industry knowledge, build interdisciplinary skills in arts and humanities, master digital tools, access facilities like the Attenborough Centre, pursue electives in fields such as philosophy or law, and explore options for study abroad or placements. At the University of Sussex, our innovative approach fosters excellence in research and education. Graduates emerge with expertise in all aspects of creative production, from securing funding to supporting artists, and benefit from Brighton's vibrant location near London, situated on a scenic campus by the South Downs National Park.
