Our Biochemistry course delves into the mechanisms of life, taught by expert biochemists and chemists. You'll investigate molecular-scale processes in cells and organisms, explore disease origins like cancer, and learn how biochemistry advances therapeutics. From the first year, hands-on lab work builds practical skills in data analysis and teamwork, while flexible modules in medicinal chemistry, drug discovery, and neuroscience allow tailoring to your interests. Supported by a vibrant community in the School of Life Sciences, you'll develop expertise in purifying biomolecules, genomics, and research projects.Upon graduation, you'll be equipped for careers in pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, or forensics, with transferable analytical skills applicable beyond science. We offer this as a four-year MSci, including an advanced research project, or as a three-year BSc with an optional industrial placement.
