Please note that this Civil Engineering course will relocate to the Belfast campus, with students transitioning midway through their studies. This program equips graduates for careers in consultancy or contracting, integrating structural, highway, and water/wastewater design. Students engage in all phases of projects, including planning, design, construction, operation, and maintenance of infrastructure such as reservoirs, pipelines, roads, bridges, tunnels, ports, airports, multi-storey buildings, sports stadia, and power stations. The university features an advanced highway laboratory in Ireland, collaborating with partners like Red Bull Racing and the Highways Agency on skid resistance testing; students utilise it in years one and two, and potentially for year-four highway projects. Additionally, the Jordanstown campus houses the UK's second-largest fire laboratory, which has influenced Eurocodes for castellated beams, with its lecturers delivering structural elements of the course.
