About the course

This four-year law degree provides a comprehensive English law qualification alongside expertise in Spanish law and the legal-political structures of Spain and Spanish-speaking countries, delivered through a bilingual English-Spanish program. In the first year, students build foundational knowledge in English law and comparative law, while developing Spanish legal language skills. The second year focuses on the Spanish legal system and political culture, including Latin America. The third year involves studying at a partner university in Spain, followed by a final year at Sheffield, where students select modules tailored to their interests, such as International Trade Law or Immigration and Asylum Law. A Core Legal and Study Skills module runs throughout, offering mooting and employability support without affecting grades, complemented by pro bono opportunities.Studying this course enables a year abroad to enhance legal and language proficiency, meets foundational requirements for barristers via the Bar Standards Board, and supports solicitor qualifications through the Solicitors Qualifying Examination. It also provides real-world experience through pro bono schemes and research-led teaching by world-leading experts, equipping graduates with essential skills for their careers.
