About the course

This course provides a solid foundation in core civil engineering disciplines, including structures, water engineering, and geotechnics, before allowing students to specialize in advanced water engineering topics in the latter stages. It emphasizes developing multidisciplinary design skills to address complex challenges in sustainable and resilient infrastructure, integrating civil engineering analysis with cutting-edge research on environmental impact minimization. In the first two years, students build expertise in structural engineering, materials, fluid mechanics, and geotechnics through group projects that tackle real-world problems, fostering skills like communication, teamwork, and project management. Later, the program offers opportunities for specialized modules, individual research projects, and creative design work on low-environmental-impact urban regeneration. Taught by world-leading experts and supported by state-of-the-art facilities, the course prepares graduates for professional careers, with accreditation from the Joint Board of Moderators for Chartered Engineer registration.
