About the course

The Bachelor of Medical Imaging (Honours) is New Zealand's first undergraduate programme in this field and the only honours degree offered by a university here. Graduates are eligible for registration with the New Zealand Medical Radiation Technologists Board. The curriculum combines evidence-based academic and clinical studies, supported by hands-on experience with experienced technologists in radiology departments, simulation labs, hospitals, and outpatient facilities. This prepares students for a rewarding, patient-centred career as a Medical Imaging Technologist.Selection is based on academic merit and personal qualities evaluated during a Multiple Mini Interview. Applications fall into undergraduate entry categories from a BSc at the University of Auckland or HSFY at the University of Otago, or graduate entry. Note that entry criteria may change yearly, direct entry from secondary school is unavailable, shortlisted applicants undergo an MMI, and special schemes exist for domestic students.
