Equine Sports Science, BSc (Hons)

This course offers a comprehensive understanding of the physiological principles in equine sports science, enabling students to apply them across various equestrian disciplines. It is tailored for those seeking to advance their knowledge in the science of performance horse production, management, and training, while fostering practical application of key scientific concepts. Based at the Brackenhurst Campus, students will utilize the extensive Equestrian Centre to develop essential practical and research skills for careers in the equine industry, with options for student livery.The curriculum includes modules such as Mammalian Anatomy and Physiology in Year One, Applied Exercise Physiology in Year Two, and Optimising Performance in the final year, with full details available on the NTU website. Assessment methods comprise coursework (50% in Years One and Two, 66% in the final year), written exams (33% in Years One and Two, 17% in the final year), and practical components (17% across all years).
