About the course

Study in the bush, on rivers and in alpine environments with this practical three-year degree. You can major in either outdoor recreation or natural resources education, building your confidence in the outdoors through fieldwork experience in both areas. The outdoor recreation major emphasises environmental and social responsibility. You'll study leadership and safety in outdoor environments, and gain 160 days of field trip experience. Your electives can include bushwalking, rock climbing, cross-country skiing and paddling, which will develop your knowledge of the Bendigo region, the Victorian Alps, the Grampians and the Murray River system. The natural resources education major promotes a deep understanding of ecology and the cultural and natural history of the alpine, woodland, coastal and river environments of south-eastern Australia. This major offers 50 days of field trip experience.

The qualification awarded on graduation is recognised in the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) as Level 7.
